Steps for Uninstalling Adapt Authoring Tool
by Thomas Lai - Wednesday, 15 January 2020, 6:39 PM

I recently installed Adapt Authoring Tool and I would like to remove it from my system. I can't find any (clear) resources on how to uninstall the Authoring Tool. I don't mind leaving the npm packages, but I'd like to undo all of Step 4 (Run the Install Script) from the instructions: https://github.com/adaptlearning/adapt_authoring/wiki/Installing-the-Authoring-Tool

Can anyone outline the steps I need to take?

  • I'm running MacOS Mojave 10.14.6
  • Attempting to uninstall the latest version of Adapt
  • I haven't taken any steps to remove the application files yet

It's pretty much self-contained so it should just be a case of deleting the folder you installed it into and (optionally) uninstalling any of the pre-requisites (git, node, mongodb, grunt) you no longer want

Hi Thomas,

if you want to uninstall Authoring tool in order to reinstall again, you can just delete the entire folder and also delete database from MongoDB.
