Design stream Call 11/04/2014
Attendees:
- Tony Finlay
- Mike Palmer
- Paul Welch
Notes:
- The UI design of the authoring tool dashboard as well as the various user stories related to page editing have been completed, been made public and are available for review and comment. Action: Tony is going to review all the Mockflow outputs and comment accordingly
- The course structure wireframes are being revisited with the intention of making amends to improve UX. The key focus will be on whether the current mode approach (move, edit, select) can be simplified – we discussed how drag and drop interactions would make the authoring tool more intuitive to use. Action: Mike to carry out review and suggest improvements to the UI.
- We discussed whether we need to make clear within the wireframes which elements are part of the MVP and which are probable future additions. Tony suggested a colour coding approach with an accompanying key would help draw attention to the most relevant areas when the wireframes are reviewed.
- Tablet support for the authoring tool was raised again. The consensus of the attendees was we should first and foremost design the authoring environment for the desktop (being mindful of the need to then review the product and amend to ensure that it will be possible to use on a tablet).
- Mike flagged that it would be helpful to have a language definition guide. Action: Paul to discuss the progress on Adapt glossary with Sven
- The next sprint now needs creating from the backlog. Paul suggested that we should review the backlog to see whether there’s a group of user stories that can be tackled which are not impacted by the work Mike is undertaking (and likely to impact page editing furniture) Action: Paul and Sven to look at the backlog and create the next sprint
Thanks,
Paul
