Where is the course saved to before it's published or exported?

I'm brand new, so sorry if this is simple. I searched the forum before asking.

(I reinstalled and would like to find my previous content, but if not, still would like to know this for future reasons.)

Is there a different place for beginner questions, or an FAQ for beginners?
