Update components in adapt authoring tool
by Juhi Gaulechha - Tuesday, 9 February 2016, 2:32 PM

Hello,

I want to know how can we update the custom components without deleting the course??

I have a course which has a Modle pop component. I have again updated my Modle Popup component as it had some bugs.I want to update all my modal popup components in the same course which had bugs but without deleting the course.I'm able to update only after i delete the entire course. Is there any way through which I can update my components but without deleting my course as my course already has other components I don't want to loose them.

Please help with this Custom component.

Hi Juhi,

After you upload the updated component to the authoring tool, are you triggering a full rebuild in your course? The build tool caches a bunch of stuff  to make the Preview show up faster but this means it won't pick up the component changes automatically. To trigger a rebuild, you can go in to the Theme picker or Menu Picker screen and click Save. The next time you preview the course, it will reflect the changes in the custom component.

Can you share a little more details to us? And also will you make it available in Git?
