Console windows

Hi everyone,

I'm up and running with Adapt Authoring tool having followed instructions for Adapt Origin install (yayy!!).

Just a quick question to put my mind at rest regarding command prompts. Currently I'm launching 2 command prompt windows - one to launch MongoDB, and one to run node server.js. This is because the MongoDB one won't allow me to type anything once it's reached the 'waiting for connections line, so I open a second console window to cd into my adapt folder

Is that correct, and can I close those two windows once I'm logged in to localhost:5000?

Many thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

The Adapt Authoring Tool is intended to be run as a web application on the server, so if you're on Windows you'll need to keep both of those open, unless you run MongoDB as a service, e.g. to run every time your machine starts, and do something silmiliar to auto run node server.js too.

Regards,

Brian
