Moving and reordering pages, blocks...
by Sandra Neubauer - Wednesday, 17 February 2016, 9:52 AM

Hello,

is there a way to reorder blocks and elements on a page in the authoring tool?

And can I move elements around between pages / articles?

Thank you!

Yes just grab hold of them near the top of the block/component where the cursor turns in to a 4 arrowed cross and drag around, drop anywhere where there is a red box. You can also use the cog menu to copy an article.block or component and paste it wherever you see the option to.

If you need to reorder 2 components side by side you might need to create a new block, drag the elements out of the current block then back in where you want them, then delete the spare block, Unless you have the new version 0.1.5 where there is a dedicated function for switching sides.

You can;t move elements between pages but you can duplicate pages.

HTH?

It's because I have been helped massively by the developers and this community over the past year, and I am keen to pay it forward, and help everyone get the most out of this wonderful tool!

If you download the latest version of the Authoring Tool - there are some updates that make some of this reorganising components even easier.
