I've gone through the instructions for the Vagrant install and each time it comes up short.
I'm a noob, but I can follow instructions.
I never see:
Adapt Authoring Tool is running on: http://localhost:5000
username: admin
password: password
But I do a lot of npm; ERR!; registry; error parsing json
And finally I get a multi-colored command prompt with some advertisement for keymetrics.io
I really wish this was easier because I so want to try this!
I am having the same problem on a Wondows 7 system. I had to change the BIOS to allow for virtualization on 64, then ran "vagrant up" and it worked (at least I got passed the timeout phase) -- it all seemed to install (getting similar screen without the red lines... but then I don't see the bit that says:

what should I do next? I would really like to be able to install the package, I think I am very close...... help would be appreciated.

Hi I got the same problem!
Then when I restart I get the message that the processes.json file is not found.
I can see the file in the folder so what is happening here?

I'm getting the same error after installation on Windows 7 (64 bit). The screenshot Claudine supplied looks identical to the last part of the install output I get. If I halt Vagrant and restart it I get the same message of process.json not found.
Happy to provide more details if needed.
