Install Adapt on a Mac
by Bastien Médard - Friday, 19 February 2016, 11:15 AM

Hello,

I would like to start using ADAPT on a Mac (I can not wait adapbuilder.io in April as we have a project starting). I have no programming experience, and I am having difficulties installing it.

Here is what I did :

- I installed Vagrant successfully

- I installed the VirtualBox and can see it in the Application folder

- I downloaded the adapt_authoring-master file

But nothing happens in the Terminal - please see screenshot attached. I run OS X 10.11.3.

Could you help me figure out what I doing wrong?

Thanks a million!

Bastien

Hi Bastian,

You said you downloaded the adapt_authoring master file, but only download is not enough, you need to decompress it, or use the method to get it via  a git command. (See https://github.com/adaptlearning/adapt_authoring/wiki/Install-with-Vagrant )

Looking at your terminal it seems that not all installation steps are done, and at least the directory is not at the expected place.

Hi John,

Thank you for your quick reply. It seems to work better with the git command. The command "vagrant up" is in process in the Terminal at the moment.

Have a great day,

Bastien
