Where are we at with Adapt 2.0?

I've just read most of the posts in this thread: https://community.adaptlearning.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=889

  • It refers to Adapt 1.0 and we are now at 2.0
  • It says installation is still a pain.

Where are things at the moment?

Can you take a desktop machine and create a server on it, then access this with your laptop and create things (Maybe a SCORM object?) that you then upload to an LMS?

I'm short on a few concepts here.  I've read https://www.adaptlearning.org/index.php/adapt-authoring-tool/#1448831898236-6d01c34d-7991 which sems to be more straightforward than it once was.
