Authoring tool: failed upload in plugin management
by Sébastien Bonte - Wednesday, 27 April 2016, 4:25 PM

Hi,

I've trouble to upload a new plugin, I've tried to upload the drag and drop component (the version made for the authoring tool) but it always failed.

However, the drag and drop component appears into the component list and i can create and configurate the component, but when i ride the preview, there is nothing ("loading" all the time). When i check the problem on the browser console, an error message said that the drag and drop component doesn't exist...

So the upload fails, but the component appears but it does'nt work... I feel stupid...

What do I wrong? Can you help me?

Thanks

Sébastien

Go into your theme picker, select a theme and apply. Then preview again. Ths will force a rebuild that will hopefully solve the problem.

Let us know.

Thank you Helen, but the download failed, I have this erro message:

"Error: Cannot find expected bower.json file in the plugin root, please check the structure of your zip file and try again."

I have modified the bower.json as explained inte the wiki "modifying the Vanilla theme", but i cannot upload. So I can't select an another theme because the default theme is already selected.

Another idea ?

I respect the zip file nomenclature too as the wiki said.

So I don't understand what is the problem with bower.json but if you want to look at it, I have uploaded it.

Thank you so much

Are you talking about a theme plugin now or the drag and drop component?

It's kind of hard to advise without knowing more.

  • Which drag and drop component did you upload?
  • Have you other items in your course that may be causing the problem?
  • Which version of the tool and the framework are you on?
  • If you try using the pre-installed Vanilla theme does that preview ok?

Really, it seams confused now!

First I tried to upload the drag and drop component (the version for authoring tool), then the upload failed but appears in the component list. So it doen't work on preview (google chrome console message error said component not found)

In a second time I tried to upload another theme but the same resulta: upload fails.

So I have juste the vanilla theme, the default theme, so i can't select another theme to rebuilt.

To answer your questions:

  • the drag and drop for authoring tool
  • all native framework are alright, only the uploaded who doen't work
  • I'm using the last version of authoring tool because I've downloaded last week, but i didn't download another framework, Should I do? I used the vagrant and VM configuration.
  • the vanilla theme preview work perfectly.

Thank you so much

Hi,

If I upgrade the framework, should it fix it ?
