First of all, are you using the Adapt authoring tool, or the Adapt framework?

If you're using the framework, then the grunt server command creates a local server, and attempts to open a browser window pointing to said local server. From the posted screenshots, it looks like you're connected to a remote linux server, in which case you might not be able to open a GUI/browser (hence the error).
