German Language - Special charakters in Font
by Thomas Schmidt - Wednesday, 19 February 2014, 6:38 PM

Hi,

I'd just successfully set up the Demo Course and everythings works fine. I made a few changes to the Demo Course - no problem.

But I cannot use some of german language charakters - like ä,ö, ü - noch chance..

I changed the webfont (import @ in the variables.less) - used a webfont with latin extended charakters...  - I see the new font - but no ÄÜÖ or ß ...

Any idea?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

Thomas

Hi,

I just solved that issue. My fault...  :-(

Quick fingers during work with Notepad plus. Settings were wrong - I encoded the json files in ANSI - not utf8. That's it...

So everything is fine so far - working on more content right now - we'll see.

Thanks for this great Project!

Cheers

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

I would recommend that you use HTML encoded characters to make sure that they show up correctly everywhere.

Hi Martin,

that makes sense! I usually use Dreamweaver for Website Dev - dont have to take care about that issue. But this time - quick testing - I used Notepad + ...

I will set up my environment with Dreamwaver now - that's so much easier then.

Thanks for the reply!

Cheers
