Importing/Exporting Courses
by Rod Miller - Tuesday, 26 July 2016, 2:17 AM

Hi

I"ve been working with Adapt for about 1-2 weeks and I think its a great product. I was wondering a few things that I haven't been able to find out and was wondering if someone can help. They are:

  1. How can I import a course?
  2. There seems to be a shared courses section, is that for shared users on the same machine or can a server be set-up for multiple users?
  3. I need to set-up a repository of the courses so that people can take and adapt for different uses.Is that possible as well or would it just be a server with versions of the different courses on it.
  4. I know adapt can handle the design, I think it's magic and fills in a lot of the answers we are looking for in a development tool, but we are looking at 10-15 designers working across a 300-350KM area. Has anyone setup Adapt to work in those conditions? I'd like to hear how it went.

My boss is seriously considering going with Adapt and we would like to know if these things can be done.

Many thanks in advanced.

Rod

Hi Rod,

I'm glad you're enjoying Adapt.  To answer your questions:

  1. It's not yet possible to import a course -- unfortunately with versioning, it's slightly more difficult to import than export.  This is a feature in the product roadmap though and some development has already started.
  2. Multi-user support is also due in an upcoming release.
  3. Do you mean that you'd have a 'master' copy of courses that you'd like users to take and modify, while leaving the original intact?
  4. The company I work for (Learning Pool) specialise in facilitating this.  Please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks,

Brian
