Error copying a course in Authoring Tool
by Henrik Aabom - Tuesday, 6 December 2016, 2:28 PM

Hi guys!

We are getting an error when trying to copy a course in the Autheroing Tool.

Clicking the small gear on the course we want copied in the dashboard, and choosing "Copy", only results in an error message saying:

"Error

Something went wrong during duplication.
Please try again."

and in the browser console we get this message:

Has anyone had the same problem?

Thanks

A little more info on the error:

I get this message when trying to copy the course (see attached image).

Also the course actually does get copied, but only appears when I refresh my browser. However, the newly copied course will not open. When I try it just keep loading and loading and nothing happens.

Any suggestions to what could be wrong here? We've tied restarting the server with the AT and run a cleanup too, but that didn't do anything.

The course, which I'm copying from, works fine, both when editing it and previewing it.

Downloading the course and execute it from a server also works fine. So it seems as if there is something wrong with the scripting that should copy course in the AT.

Thanks

Hi Henrik,

Did you recent upgraded your AT environment? And was the the old course "old" so before that upgrade?

We experienced a similar issue, and it had to do with the structures which were different. So we could see our courses, but when we wanted to change them, we got into trouble. If I remember correct, it was a difference in the json files that made our courses kill.

We ended up creating a new environment and freeze the old one.
