Extension separating content from LMS zip
by Pol Cuadro - Thursday, 16 March 2017, 11:01 AM

Hello everyone,

Our company requires an extension for distribution and maintenance of our e-learning contents. It would consist in separating the contents from the Scorm Zip for the LMS. Currently, we have our contents in a server/repository and the scorm zip located in the Moodle platform acts as a link to them. This way we can protect our contents in the server/repository while the scorm zip only acts as a connector.

How could this first Publishing Extension work:

For each course you could introduce the server/repository url where the contents are. When pressing on the download button in Adapt, two zips would be downloaded: First zip for the LMS (Moodle SCORM 1.2) which would be a connector with no content in it and Second zip containing all content and assets to upload in server/repository. This way First zip would be uploaded to moodle, saving trace/score and connecting to the content in the server/repository.

Looking forward to your answer, thanks in advance.

Hello Pol

Is this something you have set up and proved as working already on your LMS? It's just that typically it is not possible to do things like this with SCORM as cross-domain security prevents the content from communicating with the LMS.

If you are confident this will work - are you asking if this is possible within the Adapt Authoring Tool or are you asking if someone can build this into the authoring tool for you? If you are seeking someone to do the work for you, please could you post here instead?
