Adapt Learning Community: How to customized a template in

Hi Everyone,

I'm a new user of Adapt Authoring tool, and I wonder to know how to customized theme ?

I already did some research, I find this tutorial about Adapt Builder, but where could I download it ?

Hello Chris,

welcome to Adapt.

Theme editing in the Authoring Tool is a feature that is currently in development. Please see this Milestone https://github.com/adaptlearning/adapt_authoring/milestone/18 to follow the development.

Right now, you will need to customize the theme in the source code directly. A good starting point is this wiki page: https://github.com/adaptlearning/adapt_authoring/wiki/Modifying-the-Vanilla-Theme

For the bg Images Theme, to use your own images, simply overwrite the default images. Once that is done, you will need to increment the Version number (1.0.1) in the bower.json file. https://github.com/LearnChamp/adapt-bgImages/blob/master/bower.json#L5 This is required to re-upload the updated Theme in the Authoring tool.

I have just a question, if I customized again this theme, I have change the version number of this theme before upload "1.0.2" in the bowerJSON ?

good to hear that you succeeded. Yes, for every re-upload you must increase the Version number.

Hello Thomas,

I hope you can help guide me to a solution. I attempted to install the bgImages theme (through authoring tool's plugin management), and came up with an upload fail. Any idea as to why this happened?

This is not the only theme/component that has failed, some install successfully, others do not.

I'm new to AdaptLearning, and would be interested in knowing the most effective way of uploading a new plugin.

Hello Agnieszka,

I have updated the Theme and changed how a file is required. This caused some issues in the past.

Can you please check the latest release.

If it does not work, can you please provide more information.

Where do you run the Authoringtool? Locally or on a Server.
What Version of the Authoringtool and Framework do you use?
Do you have access to the Error Log when the theme is uploaded?

Thank you for troubleshooting.

I tried the latest release, and still wasn't able to upload the theme.

To answer your questions:

I run the authoring tool locally
Version:
I'm not sure how to get access to the error log

in fact that is very helpful. I have updated the supported Framework Version of the theme. Can you please try again with this release: https://github.com/LearnChamp/adapt-bgImages/releases/tag/v1.0.2
