Design-stream call 21/03/2014
by Sven Laux - Wednesday, 26 March 2014, 2:45 PM

These are the notes from the design stream call on 21/03/2014. Apologies for the delay in posting.

Attendees:

  • Petra, Sven, Tony, Mark, Paul, Al

Notes:

  • This week was the first time we worked using the new set-up in JIRA and Mockflow. The design call followed the standard agile methodology stand-up format (for the first time).
  • Petra
    • Has been working on Profile and Login pages and user stories.
    • Sven has reviewed the designs and given feedback. There are a few tasks outstanding, which looked feasible to complete on the day of this call.
    • Petra has capacity on Mon/Tues (24th / 25th). We agreed for Petra to tackle the language switching user story for the authoring tool and, if there is time left, to start on the development of the open input component (with Brian as assigned buddy).
    • No blockers
    • Planned absence: 26th March to 6th April
  • Paul
    • Has been getting up to speed on Mockflow.
    • Working on page structure editing user stories according to stories assigned in JIRA.
    • No blockers.
  • Sven
    • Has been working closely with Petra and Paul, doing briefings and reviews.
    • Working on Component editing / data entry aspect.
    • Lost two days due to unplanned absence, which will likely reflect in the sprint.
    • Identified opportunity to build component editing on Paul's work on page structure editing for a consistent approach.
    • Planned absence: 24th and 25th March.
  • Tony
    • Expects to have capacity w/c 24/03, likely in review function.
    • Sven to brief Tony on set-up and agree tasks on 26/03 (now done)
  • Mark
    • Plans to review designs and add comments w/c 24/03

Update on briefing call between Sven and Tony.

  • Sven briefed Tony on set-up, including:
    • JIRA (for planning the design work)
    • Mockflow (for doing the design work)
    • This included looking over how the IA had been created, the project template and skeleton pages in JIRA and planning, development and review processes etc.
  • Tony outlined his expectations on capacity for Adapt Learning and we agreed:
    • That Sven has officially taken on the design lead role.
    • That Tony's a realistic expectation of capacity for Adapt is 0.5 days (equivalent of 1.5 story points) per week.
    • That the maximum value of Tony's time would be in thoroughly reviewing the designs produced during each sprint and in monitoring the Design chat channel and provide suggestions/ideas, challenges and act as a sounding board etc.
    • For Tony to review the 'Course structure' and 'Login and Profile' sub projects in time for the design stream call on 28th March.
    • For Tony to partake in the regular design and steering group calls as before.
