Adapt Learning Community: Learner support

Hi,

any thoughts on what should be included out of the box with regards to the various tools and default settings?

Within Kineo we have either implemented or are thinking about the following:

Search – immediately find content anywhere in the course
Resources – deliver additional content, expert tips or resources via a traditional resource feature but also via icons positioned within text that link to a particular resource within component
Settings – Configuration options. What we allow is open to debate obviously
How to’ guide – A short, visual tutorial on how to interact and navigate through the new framework which can be launched whenever required
Progress within a page which can also show component completion as well

Just to confirm, these are tools that would be built into the output framework and not authoring tool tools? They might be useful as Author Support tools too I guess.

Yes, part of the output although certain features would need to be set up via the authoring environment. A further exploration of this is probably better placed in the new threads that Al has set up. However, one example that springs to mind would be if we implemented a search feature based on meta data for components - we would need the tool to allow users to add the meta data.

I'll put together a more thorough post on this when i'm back in the office as appreciate its a bit vague at present.
