Need help with the Assessment
by Todd Routson - Saturday, 5 July 2014, 9:46 PM

So far I am loving Adapt! I am almost through with my first course and have hit a bit of a brick wall I hope someone can help me out with. I am using the Assessment component with the Trickle component.

I have created the assessment within an article in my course and would like to do the following:

1. Disable/remove the "Model Answer" button

2. Show the individual question feedback on a question by question basis within the assessment

3. Once the quiz is complete, the feedback text reads "Why not try again?" Is there a way to re-set the quiz and let users start over from the beginning of the quiz if they have failed it? I haven't been able to find a way for the assessment to get 'reset' so the user can try to take the quiz again.

Any help here is greatly appreciated.

Hi Todd,

I'm glad you're loving Adapt.  To answer your questions:

1. This is not possible yet, but it has been noted as an enhancement for a future version of the framework:
https://github.com/adaptlearning/adapt_framework/issues/291

2. Within an assessment it is not currently possible to do this.  One of original features of Assessment was to group question components so only one overall feedback is displayed, so it was by design. However, I think it might be a good idea to implement support for individual feedback in addition to overall feedback.  I've raised an enhancement here:
https://github.com/adaptlearning/adapt-contrib-assessment/issues/21

3. There currently isn't an option to reset the quiz.  The question was also asked on this forum last week and an issue is currently open regarding this:
https://github.com/adaptlearning/adapt-contrib-assessment/issues/10#issuecomment-48043543

Please feel free to 'watch' these open issues on GitHub for the latest updates or feel free to comment. You can find a project roadmap here:

Regards,

Brian
