Adapt Installation Issue (High)
by Mark Kevz - Friday, 13 July 2018, 8:16 AM

Hi everyone,

I've done 2 servers in office.

Windows and Linux servers.

Experience in windows:

As what i've experienced in installing the Adapt Authoring tool in the windows, i cannot run the v0.5.0 of Adapt with NodeJS v8 below.

Experience in linux:

As what i've experienced in installing the Adapt Authoring tool in the windows, i used nodejs v6 and installed adapt authoring tool successfully but everytime i use v8 onwards it failed the "Life cycle error".

I badly need words of confirmation with regards to this matter.

Thank you

Mark

Could you highlight how the screenshot is relevant or give a screen shot of the 'LifeCycle' error?
This one has a cpu temperature warning from ubuntu and a deprecated warning from the mongodb module.

I would not recommend using root access to run the Authoring Tool. If someone exploits a bug in the node stack or any of the AT code they could have access to the entire server.

Hi oliver,

- The screenshot show that the current latest adapt version is running in my local server using nodejs v6.x which is said in the Github release that they drop the support on that version.

- With regards to the "LifeCycle error" I only encounter that when installing 16.04 LTS and 18.04 LTS Linux version with Nodejs v8.x.

- Im using root since im doing it for validation/practice purpose only, not yet my production server. Thanks for the information with regards to that one. Noted!

Thank you,

Mark
