what is the use of rootUrl in config.json in adapt authoring tool

In the docs it is mentioned "URL the authoring tool instance can be accessed at"

Im setting url as "/adapt". no effect is seen.

That's used internally, and needs to be a full absolute URL (e.g. https://something.com)
