Having some issues installing on iMac
by Mike Stevens - Thursday, 6 June 2019, 12:50 PM

Hi I usually install on Windows but wanted to test out the new Authoring tool and Framework on my Mac. I am having a couple issues though. Here is a list of items and versions I installed along with a screen shot of the error I am getting. Thanks in advance for any help...

MondgoDB : mongodb-osx-ssl-x86_64-4.0.10

Node : node-v8.16.0

From https://github.com/adaptlearning/adapt_authoring/wiki/Installing-the-Authoring-Tool#the-authoring-tool-will-not-run-without-the-following-click-the-headings-for-more-info

Important: The authoring tool supports the current Node.js LTS release. Please ensure your machine is using this, as you may experience compatibility issues otherwise!

As v10.16.0 is the current Node.js LTS release and you're using v8.16.0 I'd say that's probably the first thing to sort out...

Hi Matt,

That makes sense so I upgrade node to v10.16.0 thinking also that would make a difference but I am still getting the 3 vulnerabilities above. I am wondering now if I need to update my iMac's X Tools. Though my MAC is the latest greatest but think I needed to update last time I installed adapt on my mac. I will try that and see if it helps. If you think of anything else let me know. Thanks

you can safely ignore the vulnerabilities

Looks there is a PR in place to sort these out https://github.com/adaptlearning/adapt_authoring/pull/2303
