Media Component Removes CC Option
by Sherri Fricker - Friday, 1 October 2021, 2:34 PM

Hello,

We are embedding some YouTube videos in a course and noticed that the CC option is removed if you use the Media Component.

We can use the text component and the video's embed code, but this brings about its own problems.

  • We can't ensure people watch the videos. As soon as the text component is "seen" it is marked as complete.
  • Other YouTube "features" are brought in to the course as well making this option not as clean
  • If you haven't whitelisted the iFrame HTML code (we have now), the embed code is stripped from the source code when you go to edit anything in that text component.

Does anyone have a solution for the Media component?

Currently we’re on:
  • Authoring tool version 0.10.5
  • Framework version 5.12.1

Thanks!

Sherri
