Authoring Tool Bug: saving Assets
by Thomas Berger - Tuesday, 21 April 2015, 8:37 AM

Hi all, I need your help with the authoring tool.

First of all I could successfully install and start the authoring tool. I am also able to create and store courses. However I am not able to store assest.

When I select a file and click save, I receive a Server Error (500, error: “Failed to determine user's tenant!”) The Terminal running the server.js tells me that it “Failed to delete stored file in assetmanager \assets\9c\3d\file.jpg”

I am connected to mongo. I have a user stored in the users-collection and I am logged in in the Adapt Builder.

Any suggestions what’s wrong?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Thomas

You cannot delete assets from within the interface of the current authoring tool, sadly. It is on the roadmap for the next version though!

Ah, excellent news. It's not a show-stopper, I just imported a bunch of random images when testing the Authoring Tool the first time round and thought some house-keeping was necessary. Thanks Helen.

It is possible to get rid of them by a complex editing of the database and various other dangerous deletions but not at all recommended (speaking from experience!!!)

Better to wait for the next version, trust me :)

Hi,

In prep for the release where you can delete the assets, add a tag of 'deleted' to each of those assets. This will help you group all of those assets together if you set a filter using 'deleted' so when the delete function is ready you can easily find and delete those assets that are unwanted.

Mark.
