Thanks that helped! My underlying problem was that I wasn't running it on a server (oops!). I was just opening it as a file in my browser. So even after trying your steps, I still got the loading screen. I tried running http-server, and voila, it worked! But I'm glad I now know how to disable the spoor in the authoring tool.
