Translation parsing

Has any tool been created to parse out and replace the on screen copy of an Adapt course and change to another language?

I am not asking for an auto translator, we are getting a professional to translate a large number of courses we have created into French, and then we have to drop in the copy into JSON.

Is there any process to simplify this any further?

Would the Adapt Authoring Tool be able to open up the courses made manually and be available in the authoring tool? That would help for sure, if it worked.

Hi Rob,

No such tool exists yet.  Support for multiple languages is a tricky one because often the content varies by language (graphics, etc.) and some languages generate longer copy text than others.

I do know people have used the course copy functionality in the authoring tool to generate different language versions though.

In terms of importing manually created courses, this is unlikely to happen.  There is other specific meta-data bundled with the authoring tool JSON which is generally not present on manually created courses.

We are planning an import/export of authoring tool courses at some point.  In theory this would allow you to export from the authoring tool, translate the JSON files, then re-import the course.

Regards,

Brian
