Well done and thank you!

Can we find any new components? From the webinar "Your Resources: New Adapt Plugins & Functionality Webinar" from last November I had impression that following could be released:

Global functionality:
1. Home button
2. Bookmarking
a. Returns learner to last component viewed
3. Locked assessment
4. Randomised question banks
a. Multiple banks – each can have different total number of questions and different number of questions put to learner
b. Randomised answer/options
c. Results screen
a. Informs you what you need to revise
b. Revision mode & revision drawer (side panel) allows learner to jump to components and track what they have revised until taking the assessment again
c. Assessment questions can be interlaced throughout the course
5. Header/footer navigation
a. Start/end of page/topic insert – allows jump back to menu or onto the next topic etc
6. Two more main menus
a. Coverflow menu
b. Accordion menu
7. Graphical BG switcher
a. Based on scroll down the topic
8. Help guide
a. Contextual and customisable, uses overlay to explain the UI
9. Course search
a. Taggable components
New components
10. Shallow branching
11. Article reveal
12. Hot grid question
13. Timed question
14. Multiple input
15. Scrolling animation (parallax effect)
a. Has own up/down scroll nav (or use the scroll bar)
16. Wipe
17. Pinpoint question
18. Hero video (desktop only)

Hi Lukasz

This is the Adapt Open Source v2 release of the framework and core plugins.

The webinar you're referring to is mostly about new 'community' plugins that Kineo is planning to release.  As the majority of these aren't core plugins, they are not part of this release - the exceptions are the Bookmarking extension, the updated Assessment extension and the Assessment Results component which have been added to the core bundle and so are being released as part v2.

Really excited about the update. It's clearly been a lot of work, and will be great to begin playing with it.

One question: will version 2.0 be rolling out for use with the authoring tool simultaneously? I've had no trouble using install.js to upgrade to 1.1.4, but although node server detects the existence of 2.0.0 using install.js doesn't install it.

Thanks.

Hi Lucy,

Is the Framework up on GitHub?

Hi Stephen,

Figured I'd jump in seeing as Lucy's on UK time.

Framework 2.0.1--yep, minor patch already :-) --is up on GitHub:
https://github.com/adaptlearning/adapt_framework

Recommend that you update the adapt-cli:
npm update -g adapt-cli

And here's a wiki page if you have some version 1 courses that need to come over to version 2:
Converting a Course from Version 1 to Version 2

(Please consider adding to that wiki page if you learn something shareable.)

Hi Chuck,

Great news.

Neither node upgrade nor git pull will update the framework from v.1.1.3 to v2.

What can I do to upgrade the framework to v2?

Upgrading an existing course that way is risky. You're better off creating a new course in v2 then copying over your content, this Wiki page has all the knowledge we've so far managed to gather about doing that.
