Hi Christina.

Yes this used to enjoy life as a component, which I kind of preferred as I like using it twice in a block to step the user through a model with changing backgrounds per step. The component version (v1.0.3) is still available here.

Having said that I can't seem to replicate your issue with the extension version on ios Safari. Are you sure you don't have any old background images blocking the view at block/component level?

Just in case that one isn't working for you I also made a similar background extension you can download it here and uploaded it into your instance....

That a side it could be your Version of iOS if it is an older version, make sure you phone is up to date or the extension as been updated and perhaps that feature was changed by mistake. Which means the demo is using an older version of that extension that works.

Hello! - I'm a designer working on this course with Chris.

When selecting an answer in the matching question component, the dropdown doesn't remain open, and closely immediately. We are testing on iPhone 7 iOS 12.3.1 mobile Safari/Chrome, I have a test case here: http://www.jseangeary.com/usss/matching-test/index.html

I have had a successful test upgrading my local AT to v081/v241 (I was running v080/v240 still causing the mobile issue).

I'm not sure what was causing the issue, but that last upgrade seems to have solved it???

if you're having problems specifically on iOS then it will be down to this LMS using an iframe or frameset to display the course, you can read more about why that's a problem here.

If you're using v4 of the adapt framework in your authoring tool install then you can look at this for more help.

I've just tried Matching v3.0.0 (with FW v4.2.0) on iPhone running iOS v12.2 and it worked perfectly for me - in portrait and landscape mode.

Just working with this now and noticed on mobile (iOS Safari) that the dropdown blinks the full list when tapped, not allowing any selection of items. Is this the behaviour you're getting?

I had this working on mobile a couple of versions ago - maybe try with matching v2.2.0 for the meantime.

They will be either on Android or iOS or Windows devices always and getting your course adapted among these devices is of primary concern.

I definitely agree courses need to be designed first and foremost for iOS, Android etc. But I personally look forward to the day when courses are designed with FOSS mobile OSs in mind (also true to the spirit of Adapt being FOSS under the GNU public licence. I believe/hope this is coming soon, especially with the advent of the much-anticipated Librem5 phone by Purism.

Learning and quality learning design needs to be free and open to all, and the Adapt developers have made a great contribution!

Hi all, I'm in a bit of a fix having used the Launch New Window extension for iOS successfully for a couple of years. Now having done a fresh install of AT 7 and with it FW 2.3.3 on Azure the only version of LNW I can find demands FW 3. Have I missed something? Any ideas on how I can sort this out?

Many thanks (on this recurring theme)

Jonathan

Hi PJ,

Yes this is possible. We do this all the time as do our clients. However you should be aware of two main factors:

1) Security and 2) Concurrent activity.

1) If you plan to host the tool on a web-server so that users can access it from the network (as opposed to those users that are running the tool on their own computer for themselves) then you need to be competent at securing that kind of server. There is more to securing the application than just the open source code - there is the server and network configuration to consider.

2) The tool does not currently have any mechanism to prevent people working on the same page at the same time. You need to manage this through your process. If two people open the same page and edit it at the same time, the last one to save will be kept.

We tend to make sure the work is divided out at a high enough level we have not suffered from this yet. The tool does have some functions which can help , such as colour coding labels in the user interface which might help you keep track of assigned work.

Hope this helps,

Paul - Can Studios.
