Hard time customizing theme in Adapt Builder
by Vlad A - Saturday, 12 December 2015, 3:41 PM

Hello,

So I have a project I need to make in adapt framework which is awesome. I've been hurting myself trying to figure this one out and the documentation on the official github wiki of the adapt_authoring project is falling short so here it goes:

I've been trying to customize the vanilla theme and started this tutorial  which sounds easy enough on adapt_framework but it's "a killing me" on adapt_authoring tool.

Please please help me to figure out where are the files that I need to modify in the authoring tool in order to have any impact on the preview version and on the finished static download export.

Thanks in advance,

Cheers,

I'm having a similar issue. I just saw your post after I posted this: https://community.adaptlearning.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=1100

I've not done this myself, but this page in the authoring tool wiki has instructions on modifying the Vanilla theme for use with the authoring tool: https://github.com/adaptlearning/adapt_authoring/wiki/Modifying-the-Vanilla-Theme

You need to duplicate the vanilla theme, modify it, zip the files up then upload it in the authoring tool, then you can select the new theme for your course.

I'm not sure if there's a way to get real time changes in your preview by editing files, maybe you could use Chrome dev tools to tweak the css then apply those changes to your theme before zipping and uploading as a workaround?
