Spoor and course completion issues
by Thomas Barna - Tuesday, 29 May 2018, 12:39 PM

Hi,

Have successfully built a course using the authoring tool and spoor. It is published om Moodle and available to almost 500 people. The majority have been successful but a number of people report that they have completed the course, questions and final assessment but Moodle reports this as incomplete.

The tracking details can look something like:
{"lang":"en","completion":"-11111000000111110000111100001110001000010100101001000000001","questions":"","_isCourseComplete":false,"_isAssessmentPassed":false}

Can there be some technical explanation behind this? Have anyone seen this before?

Thanks

If the above tracking data is accurate then the user hasn't completed the course. You have 59 blocks in your course, 35 of which are still incomplete. And, if it includes an assessment, the user has not passed it.

What you need to do is figure out if it's:

  1. learner error
  2. course design issues (perhaps exacerbating the above i.e. it might not be clear to the learner that they need to complete everything)
  3. a technical issue

WRT to 2. you might this helpful.
