Hi,

Basic steps:

  1. Put all your questions in one article.
  2. Edit the article settings and in the extensions area select Assessment and enable it.
    1. Give the assessment a name
    2. You can set percentage passmark for assessment.
    3. Include in Total Score (include this assessment in the lms score)
    4. The other settings are advanced.
  3. In project settings > extensions > Assessment
    1. Enable Send Total score to the LMS
    2. Set the passmark for the course (this can be different to the assessment).
  4. To show feedback you need to use the "assessment results" component.
    1. This needs to be given the same assessment name as the article assessment.
    2. It is pretty advanced to configure, probably needs its own tutorial but most fields have explanatory text.
    3. Be aware if you do not have any feedback bands it can stop the feedback showing at all.

Our (Can Studios) lite editor does most of this for you with the exception of the assessment results component which is coming soonish.

Hope this helps,

Paul

Hi,

We have spent a couple of years working on this kind of thing for our hosted service - you can see a video of it here:

or take out a free trial if you like from the same site.

Regards,

Paul

Hi everyone

Out of curiosity: Is it possible to make an extension that has the ability to talk back to the AT from the preview window and if so, what do I need to look into in order to make such an extension?

I.e. I'm looking for a way to make alterations on the database from the preview window. Such as changing body texts or inserting classes.

Thanks

Henrik

Not so far, no. There's already a ticket about this issue in case you hadn't already spotted it.

I'm sure there are ways to bypass it even in Chrome/Firefox, it's why the README for this setting says 'will attempt to prevent users from skipping ahead in media' rather than 'prevents users from skipping ahead'.

(Last time I checked you could certainly bypass it in iOS Safari as well simply by playing the video full screen)

I'm finding that the core Adapt media component is unable to disable media scrubbing on Microsoft browsers (iE, Edge) but it works just fine on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, iOS Safari. Does anyone have any magical fixes for this?

Cheers

Jonathan

Hi Mark

What versions of Safari on what platforms?

I've tried this on Safari for macOS 10.14, iOS 12.0 for iPhone and 12.0.1 for iPad and it always shows the captions and always shows the captions language picker.

The only problem I could see was that if you have more than three languages, the language picker popup that's displayed when the video is being played inline isn't tall enough to display all the languages, but presumably that's easily solved with a bit of CSS.

Worth nothing that full screen video in iOS isn't being displayed in the browser, it switches over the iOS media player - so Adapt has no control over how that looks and only minimal control over how it behaves. Not sure if the same applies to Safari for macOS but it certainly looks like its doing something similar.

Safari for macOS full screen:

Safari for macOS inline video:

Safari for iPhone fullscreen:

Well I had a good old check of this in IE11, FF and Chrome and for me it works every time i.e. a Trickle 'Continue' button is always shown in the With Hotgrid items page below the text component:

Just once - on iOS12/iPad - did it not show Trickle on that page, unfortunately I have since been unable to replicate that so can't debug it.

Hi Martin,

I don't think there is any reason adapt would be different to any other html/js content in this regard in that some form of web server or wrapper is required as browsers are not keen on running js in local content.

This is something we have solved on a number of occasions and have had courses work from cd, usb memory stick and as apps on android /iOS.

Thanks, Leonardo.  I already have cookies enabled, but appreciate your reply.
