Both of those scenarios had crossed my mind, but wasn't sure if there was anything else. Thanks for making it clear, Matt. You guys have been very helpful.

Hi Paul,

Glad to hear that you want to explore the Adapt authoring tool. In order for us to help you, you'll need to repost with more specifics about troubles with "downloading". Are you having trouble downloading it or installing it? And if you are having trouble installing it, please provide specifics about what you have done so far and what kind of errors you're getting now.

There are installation instructions in the authoring tool wiki. They will be your primary guide and a necessary first step. Feel free to reference the instructions when you report what step is failing for you.

Paul, I don't know how far you are into your attempts at installing this, but your statement "no coding experience" is a flag for me. You don't need coding experience to use the authoring tool. But the authoring tool is meant to be installed on a server to be used by a team. Consequently, some folks without a strong technical background may struggle to install it on a personal computer for use by an individual. Reading through the instructions on the wiki can help you determine if it is a project that you want to undertake.

If installing the authoring tool is not a path you want to travel, please consider making use of one of several hosted solutions from the following companies:
Can Studios
Learning Pool
VYAS

Whichever path you choose, I'm sure you'll be please with the results you'll get with Adapt.

I got the previous issue and found the mistake I was making. I fixed that problem and got into another issue.

Error message I am getting now is:

In our experience this is only a problem for a client who is new to e-learning. Since typically most learning management systems display courses in a popup window the client will generally have already put something in place to explain to users the need to turn off the overly-zealous popup blocker that's in iOS.

Where we have clients who are new to e-learning this is something we'll flag to them quite early on.

Hi Jana

Unfortunately Safari for iOS is notoriously bad at dealing with web content in iframes or framesets, leading to issues like you describe.

You could try installing the adapt-iOSScrollFix plugin, that might sort it out. Alternatively many choose to force the course to create its own new window so that there's no iframe involved - there's quite a bit of discussion about this here. We also built an extension to help with this which can be found here.

Equally it's possible to modify Moodle so that it doesn't use an iframe, you can find more info about that here.

Hey everyone,

I'm having quite a bit of trouble with a Bug that only appears when viewed in Moodle (popup with iFrame) on an iPad (iPad Air 2, iOs Version 10.2.1, same Bug on older iPad).

I have trickle enabled and scroll enabled. But when the trickle-button is clicked instead of scrolling it Jumps to the top of the page and then performs a small auto-scroll downwards.

When I test it locally I have no issues with the scrolling-behavior. But we previously had a similair scrolling-bug that had to do with accessibility in the config.json.

I updated our adapt-framework version last week to 2.0.17

Does anyone have an idea what to try?

Hi Bill

If it's a problem only on iOS and only on Saba then it does sound like it's still the Saba frameset/iOS issue. Is it definitely opening in a new popup window that's generated by the course (rather than Saba)?

Further to this - the iOS issue seems specific to SABA LMS.  In Totara LMS and SCORM cloud the exact same course works fine on an iPAD.  In which case I'm not sure there's an easy fix?  The course opens in a simple pop-up window to get around SABA's frameset, but this doesn't affect the tutor in other LMS.

Hi,

I'm getting this problem with the tutor on an iPad running Safari in iOS 10.2.1.  The feedback appears at the top of the course page, rather than centred on the screen.  Seems okay on iPhone5 also running iOS 10.2.1 though.

I've tried Martin's LESS code above, but it hasn't worked for the newer iOS version.  Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks,

Bill
